Day 1 - Christmas past and present

It's amazing to me how our Christmas tree (and the contents underneath of it) have changed since we had kids. I had to stand on a chair to get the whole shot in this year. Here's some photos of how we've progressed...

2001...our first married Christmas...when it was just us and the cat...
although I thought we had dogs then too?
Notice how far away the top of the tree is from the ceiling

2002...at my mom's house...

I don't know why I don't have a picture of the tree at our house

2003...Evan's first Christmas...
WE did not go overboard, but a few grandparents may have. Just a tiny bit

2004...apparently I forgot to take a 'before' picture of the tree...bad mommy!

2005...the gate serves 2 purposes...

1. to keep little fingers away from the ornaments and
2. to keep the cat from peeing on the tree

2006...the year of the Spiderman tent...need I say anything else?
Notice the cat is still trying to find a way under the tree...
2007...okay, so maybe we had a little something to do with the slightly overboard contents under tree...but I wouldn't change a thing :-)
Now see how the top of the tree is practically scraping the ceiling and there isn't even an angel on top! Remember, I was in the truck for the whole tree episode...
